Rainy Wintry Brooklyn State of Mind

Posted on 08 November 2010 by DanielA

Today is the second day of daylight savings time, and the first day it applies to the work week. Not only that, but today was gray and windy and ugly and cold. My toes have little sensation in them although the office is at a standard 70 degrees. It was hailing when I went out for lunch. And I have to ride my bike home.

Oh yes, today isĀ  a sad day indeed. It will be pitch black by the time you get home. That means that the winter is here. There is less time to see the sun, which means that you have less Vitamin D. It’s a good thing you drink all that milk every day.

What about the holidays to look forward to? Sure, sure, look ahead. But this kind of weather, these days make me sad to leave work. I want to just stay here and go to sleep underneath my desk where I can be warm and fetal. Wake up the next day and do the same thing, focus on what’s right ahead of you. That’s one good thing about these days. You don’t want to look outside, so you have to live more immediately.
