Williamsburg Crif Dogs

Crif Dogs has finally made it east – to Brooklyn. For years, this love-filled bac0n-wrapped hot dog joint has been milking St. Marks for all its hot dog love, and providing some interesting nightlife on the other side of their “phone booth.” Now it is on 555 Driggs Ave., just next to the Bedford stop.

For those who have never been to this hot dog place, it vies with Coney Island’s Nathan’s for most superb hot dog establishment. If you didn’t catch it above, all the hot dogs are bacon-wrapped. The Spicy Redneck is the best one: it has coleslaw and hot sauce on it. There are a range of other specials, and if you’re with a friend and want to be cool, ask for a $10 stoner-pack, which has been since renamed due to small children requesting a variety of two unknown specials which are decided for you by the hot dog gods, and which could be anything from a couple of Spicy Rednecks, to a shake and fries. Sharing a $20 stoner-pack is a better bet – it comes with four items.

In any case, now that the Williamsburg Crif Dogs is open, there’s that much more to be happy about, and that much less to go to Manhattan for. Enjoy!
